ANCIENT MARINER – THE MUSICAL is a modern musical inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s epic poem, The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
More relevant today than ever, it tells the story of how a sailor shoots an albatross with his crossbow, unleashing a series of disasters upon his ship and its crew. Authors Lee Johnson (book and lyrics) and Robert Schroder (music) have adapted the story to mirror the theme of the ecological inter-wovenness of all things, and post the warning that “He who harms even the most insignificant part of the whole, also harms the sum of all parts… and ultimately destroys himself.”
